Hi, I'm Matt Wilson

Serial entrepreneur, early investor in Pinterest & Lyft, avid traveler, co-founder of YYCBeerWeek and lover of all things with four legs and fur.

My passion is developing incredibly simple yet effective frameworks for achieving your business and financial goals.

I started my first company when I was 11 years old and have since built (and sold) a few companies several times over. I sold my last one at age 28, and, now, in my 30s, I work as an advisor to startups and early stage organizations helping to build their business model, sales and marketing strategies. I’m also quite the investment nerd and love teaching people how to build a bulletproof financial portfolio.

You’re probably just like me.

I’ve stood in your shoes over the years―a budding entrepreneur with a killer idea to finally start your own business and get away from the 9-5 grind. I’ve been there; I’ve stood in that spot. But where do you start? There’s SO much information out there on this crazy internet, so how do you know what advice to follow? I learned this the hard way over many years of trial and error. Thankfully, you don’t have to struggle like I did.

I started this site because I knew there were other people out there just like me who have amazing ideas that the world will never see because of the overwhelming process of trying to bring them to fruition. Over the years, I’ve streamlined my setup process to the point at which I can walk into any new business and lay down the framework that would quickly and painlessly take their idea and turn it into an actual revenue-generating business.

It’s not difficult once you have the framework built; it’s figuring out the framework through years of trial and error that kills most great ideas.

People don’t have the time to go through these growing pains, so why not simply be taught the framework from someone who has?

I take a different approach when it comes to business. I don’t dive into crazy long lectures, procedures and endless, mind-numbing minutiae. I cut the fluff and focus on the key steps you need to complete in order to get up and running as painlessly and effectively as possible. No BS, just REAL actionable steps towards your end goal.

Through years of working with established companies, it still blows my mind how so many of them lose sight of the big picture and get bogged down in trivial details. Time is wasted, money is wasted, and nobody wins.

Why my approach works

Have you ever spent hours doing something only to end up changing it a few days later? It’s this process of trial and error that so many entrepreneurs have to struggle with, and it’s a major time waster. I deliver real results by focusing attention on what really matters to the business.

My underlying emphasis is always on being effective―determining what actionable steps will generate the best results. Once this is done, we then streamline these steps so that the business can run like a well-oiled machine, giving you more time to simply enjoy your life as a business owner.

Be an explorer...but only sometimes!

It took three centuries for European explorers to finally reach the west coast of Canada since their initial arrival in Newfoundland, and now it can be done in less than a week thanks to the roads that were built by the ones who came before us. Exploration might be fun, but it’s best saved for your next vacation, not your business.
